Derenda Aranda, Principal

Maribel Gutierrez, Assistant Principal

Welcome to North Park Elementary!

I am Derenda Aranda, Principal at North Park Elementary and I am excited and honored to work with the students and staff at North Park.

I am a 1997 OPSU graduate and  I have been in education for fourteen years and have explored education in a variety of areas in classrooms in grades Pk-12 for nine years and in the capacity of the Dean of Students for four years. This is my second year at Guymon Public Schools.

I am a 1997 OPSU graduate and received my Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from York College in 2021. Others' successes and outcomes are my biggest reward and inspire me to be the best educator and administrator I can be for my students, teachers, and district. I share in others' successes as I understand that raising and educating a child takes a village. I believe we can pull our strengths together to meet the needs of our diverse population of students at GPS. Working with our community partners and parents is a priority for me.

I am a proud mother and wife and owe my accomplishments to the encouragement and support of my family, colleagues, and husband.
My husband and I farm north of Guymon, and we look forward to our time spent camping in the mountains or visiting our children.

I am Maribel Gutierrez, Assistant Principal at North Park Elementary. I am so proud to be a principal in a school in my hometown and honored to be the first Hispanic administrator at Guymon Public Schools.

I am a GHS and OPSU Graduate and excited to be entering my 12th year working in education at GPS! I earned my master's degree at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

My family and I enjoy supporting and watching Guymon Athletics and often look for ways to support our community. I hope my Hispanic Heritage and language skills will bring together the parents, students, and staff of North Park. The effectiveness of communication is an essential skill needed to build a shared allegiance to our vision statement. My priority is to work with all stakeholders (students, staff, parents, and the community) to ensure our student needs are met for academic and personal growth. It is my belief that collaborative relations among the school, local businesses, and the community are essential to producing successful students.

I look forward to meeting you all at Meet the Teacher and working with you throughout the year.
