I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to “THE” Guymon High School! We are blessed to have a wonderful learning community consisting of some of the most talented students, teachers, and support staff that a community can ask for. In describing Guymon High School, we follow the Guymon Public Schools Mission Statement of the “3 E’s” which are “Educate, Embrace, and Empower”.
When it comes to “Educate”, Guymon High School embodies this through our various methods of learning based on ensuring that we are making today’s students tomorrow’s leaders. Our staff has been recognized over the past year as some of the strongest in the great State of Oklahoma as they have received numerous awards and recognition at the state and national levels including state honors for teaching excellence, nationally recognized competitors, and several athletics/activities coaches/sponsors of the year. We take pride in the fact that students that leave Guymon High School go on to achieve great things at the state and national level as well including some of our Tigers being recognized as some of the best students in the state of Oklahoma as well as students achieving pioneering success in career and technical pathways.
One of our greatest gifts at Guymon High School is our diversity and how we “Embrace” not only each other but changing to best address the ever changing needs of our students. GHS has students that represent 39 different languages from 37 different countries. When it comes to ensuring that our students are prepared to work with colleagues from all different walks of life as well as parts of the world, our students are amazing at compassion, objectivity, and understanding they show each other and our community.
Every year on the first day of school, we hold a pep assembly where we discuss how we are going to compete in every phase of our school, whether it’s the classroom, field, court, or stage. Our entire learning community will focus on how we “Empower” each other together to compete and achieve our goals. This past year, we celebrated district champions, playoff contenders, national qualifiers, and some of the top performances that Guymon High School has seen in decades. With our constant pursuit of achieving the maximum effort and success, which we call “Roar To Soar”, our students have taken their education and extracurricular success to a new level.
I encourage you to be a part of our Tiger Family and “Roar With Us!”. We are always looking for new and exciting ways to partner with our parents and community members to give our students the best learning experiences possible, celebrate success, and ensure that our students are essential stakeholders in the community. Please feel free to contact us at any time regarding any questions or if you would like to become involved at our amazing school!
